Artist's Description

This photo was taken on what is called "the back side of Hana." We kept going after a night in Hana, driving all the way around the Haleakala instead of retracing our path from Hana. A very different landscape from the lush jungles of the Road to Hana. In the background of this shot is Alau Island, topped by one coconut tree.

However, someone else adapted Adams' words thus: "You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it." Those words are also true, even if the two statements are somewhat paradoxical. I stand in awe of the beauty of earth and sky and animals and people in this world. I quietly borrow the images and ask you, in turn, to borrow the vision as well. I invite you to purchase any of these...
